Pre-book a shuttle or private taxi, or take a local taxi or bus on the spot?

There is not a simple answer. Sometimes it is cheaper simply to pre-book your holiday taxi online, while sometimes you will have to pay extra for this pre-booking service compared with taking a taxi on the spot. But in all cases pre-booking a taxi online at some reputable sites or with reputable local companies will give you peace of mind that on arrival you won’t get ripped off by a local taxi driver (especially if you are coming from another country and do not know the local environment very well).
